How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lead and deliver strategic bids and tenders for one of Scotland's most respected professional services firms, working closely with senior leaders to secure major business opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bids professional to influence growth, shape winning strategies, and make a visible impact in a collaborative, award-winning organisation.

    Description

    Lead complex bids, tenders, frameworks and proposal opportunities from qualification through to submission and post-award review.
    Develop bid strategies that align with client requirements, scoring criteria and commercial objectives.
    Produce high-quality, persuasive and client-focused written responses that clearly articulate value and differentiation.
    Work closely with senior leaders, subject matter experts and operational teams to gather evidence, credentials and case studies.
    Facilitate bid planning sessions, review meetings and stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
    Coach colleagues on tender best practice, evaluation methodologies and presentation preparation.
    Support contract mobilisation activities following successful awards.
    Analyse bidding performance, feedback and market trends to improve win rates and effectiveness.Profile

    A successful Senior Bid Manager should have:

    Significant experience in bids, tenders, proposals or business development.
    A proven track record of winning complex public and private sector opportunities.
    Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling abilities.
    Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    Commercial awareness and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
    The ability to challenge constructively, influence decision-making and drive best practice.
    Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach.Experience within legal services would be advantageous but is by no means essential. Applications from candidates within consultancy, accountancy, engineering, construction, technology, property or other professional services sectors are strongly encouraged.
