How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Business Intelligence Analyst

    Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week

    Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

    We're looking to recruit an experienced, proactive Business Intelligence Analyst.

    This is a key role within the Finance team, responsible for leading the development and delivery of business intelligence reporting and analytics across the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders across Distribution, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial and IT, transforming complex business data into meaningful information, insights and recommendations that support operational and strategic decision-making.

    You will play an important role in driving performance improvement, reporting consistency and data-led decision-making across the business.

    Duties of a Business Intelligence Analyst:

    Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
    Analyse data from systems including AS400, Fabric, Manhattan Active WMS, SAP and financial systems.
    Identify trends, risks, opportunities and root causes, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
    Develop, maintain and enhance reporting and performance metrics across warehouse operations, inventory, transport, customer service, labour productivity, costs, budgets and financial performance.
    Ensure reporting information is accurate, relevant and aligned with business requirements.
    Own the validation, modelling and management of data used within reporting solutions.
    Ensure data accuracy, consistency and adherence to reporting standards across multiple business systems.
    Identify and deliver opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve analytical capability.
    Enhance existing dashboards and increase the accessibility and value of business information.
    Partner with stakeholders across Distribution, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial and IT to understand business requirements and prioritise reporting needs.
    Deliver business intelligence solutions that support operational improvements and strategic objectives.

    What we would like from you:

    Essential:

    Advanced Power BI development experience.
    Strong SQL knowledge.
    Experience working with large and complex datasets.
    Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions and recommendations.
    Experience presenting insights and recommendations to management-level stakeholders.
    Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Experience developing operational and financial dashboards.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    Strong attention to detail.
    Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively.
    A degree-level qualification in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
    Desirable:

    Experience with Manhattan Active WMS.
    Experience with SAP and Microsoft Fabric.
    Experience working with AS400.
    Knowledge of DAX optimisation.
    Experience within Supply Chain, Warehouse or Logistics environments.
    Experience in financial reporting and cost analysis.
