How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are working with a market-leading rail and infrastructure contractor to assist them in hiring a Project Manager for their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business at the forefront of the UK's rail and infrastructure sector. * Leading Project Engineers, Site Agents, Site Managers, and site teams to achieve programme, quality, and commercial objectives.
    * Managing project budgets, forecasts, procurement, and NEC contractual obligations to ensure financial performance.
    * Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, Network Rail representatives, designers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
    * Ensuring all projects are delivered in full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
    * Identifying project risks and opportunities while providing regular progress updates and strategic reports to senior management.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    * Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering rail, civil engineering, or major infrastructure projects.
    * A strong understanding of NEC contracts, programme management, commercial performance, and operational delivery.
    * Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across multiple workstreams.
    * Experience working within the rail sector, with knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures being highly advantageous.
    * A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management together with SMSTS, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence. PTS certification would be beneficial.

    What's in it for you?

    * The opportunity to lead the delivery of high-profile rail and infrastructure projects across Central Scotland with a leading contractor.
    * A competitive salary, company car or car allowance, annual bonus, enhanced pension, and comprehensive benefits package.
    * Excellent long-term career prospects, ongoing professional development, and the chance to join a business renowned for investing in its people and promoting from within.
