How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality assurance manager

    Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire Job type: Permanent, full time Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

    The role

    We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Manager on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business. This is a standalone quality role with real ownership and influence, responsible for maintaining and developing the company's quality management system, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

    Working collaboratively with all departments, you will act as the independent quality governance function — leading root cause analysis, managing supplier quality, and ensuring the business meets its obligations across UK, EU, US, and international regulatory requirements. Importantly, the business is open to candidates who are not yet at manager level but have the right experience and potential to grow into the role, making this an excellent development opportunity for a driven quality professional looking to take the next step in their career.

    Main responsibilities

    * Maintain and continuously improve the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System

    * Prepare the business for and support the successful completion of an upcoming external ISO 9001 audit

    * Develop new QMS documentation and review and revise existing policies, procedures, and records as required

    * Identify, map, and maintain a clear understanding of all relevant regulations and standards applicable to the company's products and operations

    * Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the business

    * Lead root cause analysis using quality tools including 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, and other QC techniques

    * Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues

    * Prepare and issue formal 8D reports to customers when required

    * Take primary accountability when a customer enquiry is classified as a field quality issue

    * Evaluate and monitor suppliers to secure consistently high-quality production materials and components

    * Support supplier audits and improvement activities where required

    * Provide training, coaching, and practical support to employees on quality and environmental management processes

    Skills/experience

    * Practical experience in quality assurance, quality management, or a related manufacturing environment

    * Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and quality management systems

    * Experience with regulatory compliance, ideally covering product, environmental, and/or electrical or electronic manufacturing requirements

    * Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies including 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone/Ishikawa

    * Experience with supplier quality management, evaluation, and/or auditing

    * Strong problem-solving, analytical, and logical-thinking skills

    * Good project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across departments

    * Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders

    * Confident providing leadership and facilitation without direct line authority

    Salary & working hours

    * Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

    * Hours: Daytime hours, Monday to Friday
