How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    PRODUCT MANAGER - SEND

    BARNSLEY

    UP TO £45,000 + COMPANY CAR + BENEFITS

    THE OPPORTUNITY:

    Get Recruited are working exclusively with a reputable and growing business who are looking for a Product Manager with strong knowledge and practical experience of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) to help shape and improve software products used by organisations across the public sector.

    You'll work closely with customers, developers, and senior stakeholders to understand the challenges faced by users across SEND, education and local authority environments, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn customer needs into valuable product solutions.

    For this role, strong SEND sector knowledge and practical experience is the key priority. Previous Product Management experience or formal Product Management training would be advantageous but isn't essential. The business can provide support, coaching and training around its internal product processes and business case development for someone who brings the right SEND expertise and stakeholder experience.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong SEND background who has experience working with customers and stakeholders to identify needs, improve services or develop solutions. You may already have Product Management experience, or you could be looking to bring your SEND expertise into a product-focused role.

    THE ROLE:

    Manage and contribute to the full product lifecycle, from research and planning through to delivery and continuous improvement
    Use your SEND knowledge and experience to help shape products that address genuine customer and user challenges
    Engage with customers, local authorities and other stakeholders to understand their processes, challenges and requirements
    Gather and analyse user feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new solutions
    Translate customer requirements and complex business processes into clear product opportunities
    Develop business cases for new product features and improvements, with support and training provided where required
    Write clear user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria for development teams
    Work closely with designers, developers and testers to ensure successful product delivery
    Help prioritise features and maintain an organised product backlog
    Review product performance and user feedback to inform future development
    Support product roadmap planning and communicate upcoming changes and improvements
    Stay informed about developments, legislation, policy and regulatory requirements relating to SEND, education, local authorities and the wider sectorTHE PERSON:

    Must have strong SEND sector knowledge and practical experience
    Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities within SEND, education, local authorities or closely related environments
    Experience working with customers, service users and/or stakeholders to understand needs, challenges and develop appropriate solutions
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work across multiple stakeholder groups
    Ability to understand complex processes and translate customer requirements into practical solutions and product opportunities
    A proactive and innovative mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches and bring forward new ideas
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    Previous Product Manager, Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst or similar product-focused experience would be highly advantageous, but isn't essential
    Product Management qualifications or formal training would be advantageous
    Experience developing business cases would be desirable, although training and support can be provided
