How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SF Partners are working with a business based in Solihull who is looking for a HR Manager to cover maternity.

    Location: Solihull,with regular travel between UK sites
    Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
    Salary: £65,000-£70,000 per annum
    Benefits: Car allowance

    We are working with a well-established,multi-site professional services business to appoint an experienced HR Manager on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

    Based from the organisation's Solihull office,this is a broad,hands-on generalist role supporting employees and managers across a number of UK locations.

    The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function,providing pragmatic advice across employee relations,policies and procedures,learning and development,onboarding and wider people matters.

    A key priority during the assignment will be reviewing existing HR practices and developing a new,consistent onboarding policy and process across the organisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the day-to-day HR function across a multi-site organisation.
    * Provide advice and guidance to managers on a broad range of people matters.
    * Lead and manage employee relations cases including disciplinaries,grievances,absence and performance management.
    * Review existing HR policies,procedures and working practices,making recommendations for improvement.
    * Develop and implement a new company-wide onboarding policy and process.
    * Support managers with performance management and employee development.
    * Review learning and development requirements and coordinate appropriate training initiatives.
    * Manage and monitor the HR budget,ensuring effective control of people-related expenditure.
    * Coach and support line managers to strengthen their people management capability.
    * Ensure HR processes remain compliant with current UK employment legislation and best practice.
    * Maintain accurate HR records,documentation and management information.
    * Support recruitment,retention,engagement and wider people initiatives where required.
    * Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business and workforce requirements.
    * Provide visible HR support across the organisation,including regular travel between UK offices and operational locations.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist background who can quickly establish credibility and operate with a high degree of autonomy.

    You will ideally have:

    * Significant experience as an HR Manager,HR Business Partner or senior HR generalist.
    * Strong employee relations experience,including managing disciplinary,grievance and performance cases.
    * Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    * Experience reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
    * Experience developing or improving employee onboarding processes.
    * A good understanding of learning and development and organisational training requirements.
    * Experience managing or contributing to HR budgets.
    * Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
    * The confidence to coach and challenge managers appropriately.
    * A pragmatic,commercial and solutions-focused approach.
    * Experience working within a multi-site or operational organisation.
    * CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be advantageous.
    * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

    The Person

    This role will suit someone who is comfortable combining operational HR delivery with broader project work. You will need to be confident handling sensitive employee relations matters,able to work independently and capable of building strong relationships with managers and employees across a geographically dispersed organisation.

    Experience within engineering,infrastructure,construction,technical services,facilities management or another multi-site environment would be beneficial but is not essential
