How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical designs for power distribution and control systems used across a variety of industrial and infrastructure applications.

    Working closely with project, production, and commissioning teams, you'll develop practical engineering solutions that meet customer requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

    This is a varied position that offers genuine involvement from initial design through to installation and project completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design & Development

    Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings for power distribution and control systems
    Develop bespoke engineering solutions to meet project and customer requirements
    Create and maintain accurate design documentation using AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar software
    Support the development of innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions

    Project Delivery

    Collaborate with project engineers and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
    Provide technical support throughout manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities
    Assist with resolving technical challenges during project delivery

    Quality & Compliance

    Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and client specifications
    Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality across all engineering documentation
    Support adherence to company quality and health & safety procedures

    Continuous Improvement

    Contribute to design reviews and technical discussions
    Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
    Support upgrade and retrofit projects where required

    What We're Looking For

    HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
    Experience in electrical design within power distribution, electrical manufacturing, control systems, automation, or a related engineering environment
    Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
    Experience using AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software
    Knowledge of relevant electrical engineering standards and best practice
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
    A proactive and detail-focused approach to engineering

    Desirable Experience

    Power distribution or electrical infrastructure projects
    Control systems or automation environments
    Panel design or electrical manufacturing experience
    Protection, monitoring, or control equipment knowledge
    Experience supporting installation and commissioning activities
