How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    PRACTICE MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANCY
    ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY

Salary: £65,000 per annum plus commission
Location: Fully remote, with occasional client travel when required
Progression: Opportunity to acquire equity after 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Manager, Senior Accounts Manager or Associate Director to join a specialist accountancy firm working exclusively with businesses across the construction, property and real estate sectors.

This is a senior, commercially focused position combining portfolio management, client advisory and business growth. You will manage and develop an established portfolio while helping the firm attract and onboard new construction-sector clients.

You will be supported by a team of four accountants who will complete the day-to-day accounts and compliance work. Your responsibility will be to manage the team, review the quality of their work and ensure clients receive a consistently high standard of service.

Your main focus will be developing client relationships, providing commercial advice, identifying additional services and growing the firm’s recurring fee income.

    THE ROLE

Manage and nurture a portfolio of construction-sector clients.

Act as the principal point of contact for clients.

Provide commercial, financial and strategic business advice.

Advise clients on CIS and construction-sector accounting matters.

Review accounts, tax and compliance work prepared by the team.

Manage, support and develop a team of four accountants.

Identify opportunities to introduce additional services to existing clients.

Convert qualified leads provided by the firm into new clients.

Develop creative ways of generating new business across the construction, property and real estate sectors.

Build a sustainable pipeline of new clients and recurring fees.

Oversee the onboarding of new clients.

Monitor portfolio profitability, service levels and fee recovery.

Attend occasional client meetings, primarily within Central England.

Work closely with the firm’s leadership team on its long-term growth strategy.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must have:

    FCCA or FCA status.

Significant experience working within an accountancy practice.

Strong knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).

    Experience managing construction-sector clients.

Experience managing and developing a client portfolio.

Strong advisory, consultation and commercial skills.

The confidence to lead client meetings and provide strategic advice.

Experience reviewing accounts, tax and compliance work.

Previous experience managing or supervising an accounting team.

A commercial mindset and the confidence to help win new business.

The ability to convert leads and build long-term client relationships.

A proactive, ambitious and entrepreneurial approach.

    PACKAGE AND BENEFITS

    £65,000 basic salary.

Commission for successfully onboarding new clients.

    Fully remote working.

Occasional client travel only when required.

Qualified leads provided by the firm.

Support from an established team of four accountants.

    Senior-level autonomy and responsibility.

Opportunity to acquire equity after 12 months, subject to performance and mutual agreement.

Genuine opportunity to help build and shape a growing specialist accountancy firm.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious Practice Manager, Senior Accounts Manager or Associate Director who understands the construction sector and wants to progress beyond traditional compliance work into a more commercial, advisory and growth-focused position.
