How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager - Pallet Distribution - Doncaster - £55,000 - £60,000 + Package

    The role

    This Business Development Manager opportunity is with an established logistics business looking to grow its pallet distribution offering across Yorkshire and the wider region.

    Based in Doncaster, the business is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager who understands the pallet network market and has a proven ability to identify, win and develop profitable new business. You'll have the autonomy to build your own pipeline, develop relationships with key decision-makers and play a key role in the continued growth of the operation.

    Working closely with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, you'll be responsible for developing sustainable customer relationships while ensuring new business is commercially viable and operationally deliverable.

    Key responsibilities

    Identifying and securing new business opportunities across pallet distribution and pallet network services
    Developing a strong pipeline of prospective customers across Yorkshire and surrounding regions
    Managing the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to negotiation, implementation and account development
    Building relationships with key decision-makers across manufacturing, retail, FMCG and distribution businesses
    Producing commercially competitive proposals while protecting margin and profitability
    Working closely with operational teams to ensure new customers are successfully onboarded
    Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and service penetration
    Maintaining accurate CRM activity, sales forecasts and pipeline reporting
    Working alongside the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams to ensure customer service and operational expectations are achieved

    Key experience

    Proven experience operating as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager or Business Development Executive within pallet distribution
    Strong understanding of pallet networks, groupage, general haulage or wider road freight services
    Demonstrable track record of winning and developing profitable new business
    Existing relationships across the Yorkshire market would be highly advantageous
    Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of rates, margins and transport costs
    Experience working within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment
    Confident managing the full sales process and negotiating with senior decision-makers
    Self-motivated, commercially focused and comfortable developing a territory with a high level of autonomy
