How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Anderson Knight is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation for an experienced Helpdesk Team Leader.

This is an excellent opportunity for a people-focused team leader with experience in parts ordering, stock control, procurement, service coordination or helpdesk operations. You will lead a small team responsible for managing parts availability, supplier relationships and stock requirements, ensuring engineers and customers receive the support they need in a timely and efficient manner.

Please note: This is not a warehouse management role. We are seeking candidates with experience coordinating parts, suppliers, inventory and customer service operations rather than hands-on warehouse or logistics management.

    Location: Glasgow Head Office
Salary: £30,141.72 per annum + excellent company benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 5 days over 7
    Rotating shifts of 7:00am to 3:00pm, 8:00am to 4:00pm and 9:00am to 5:00pm | 1 weekend in every 5

    The Role
Reporting to the management team, you will lead the Helpdesk Parts Team, ensuring parts are sourced, ordered and delivered efficiently to support operational and customer requirements. You'll oversee stock management, supplier performance and team productivity while driving service improvements and maintaining high levels of accuracy.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead, coach and develop a small Helpdesk Parts Team, allocating workloads and setting priorities.
    • Manage the end-to-end parts ordering process, from purchase order creation through to delivery and resolution of supplier issues.
    • Monitor stock levels and reorder requirements, ensuring parts availability while maintaining effective stock control.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, negotiating lead times and resolving supply issues.
    • Liaise with engineers, customers and internal departments regarding parts availability and order updates.
    • Monitor team performance against KPIs including order accuracy, service levels and turnaround times.
    • Produce regular performance and management reports.
    • Maintain accurate records across stock management systems, ERP platforms and internal databases.
    • Support the recovery, categorisation and management of returned parts and equipment.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, service delivery and cost control.
    • Manage team performance through regular coaching, training and development.
    • Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing team development activities.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.

    About You
We're looking for an experienced Team Leader with a background in parts management, service coordination, procurement, inventory control or technical helpdesk operations.

    You'll have:
    • Previous Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Helpdesk experience.
    • Proven experience managing parts ordering, procurement, inventory or stock control processes.
    • Experience working within a service, engineering, facilities management, automotive or technical support environment.
    • Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience building relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • A customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience monitoring KPIs and producing management reports.
    • Knowledge of ERP, stock management or procurement systems would be advantageous.

Please note: Applicants whose experience is primarily focused on warehouse operations, picking, packing or goods handling without responsibility for parts ordering, supplier management or inventory planning may not be suitable for this position.

    Benefits
    • Excellent company benefits package.
    • 37.5-hour working week.
    • Structured rotating shift pattern.
    • Opportunity to lead and develop an established team.
    • Supportive and growing organisation with genuine career development opportunities.

If you're an experienced Helpdesk Team Leader, Parts Coordinator, Inventory Controller, Procurement Team Leader or Service Support Team Leader looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
