We are seeking skilled welders with strong FCAW experience to join a highly experienced team delivering complex vessel construction projects. If you take pride in producing high-quality, right-first-time welds and have experience working to strict welding procedures and technical drawings, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As an FCAW Welder, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating structural ship components, with a particular focus on Flux Cored Arc Welding.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out FCAW welding on carbon steel structures
Welding in multiple positions using FCAW processes and appropriate consumables
Working to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
Producing high-quality, right-first-time welds to required standards and tolerances
Preparing, positioning and fitting components prior to welding
Using air and electric power tools safely and effectively
Carrying out visual inspections and ensuring welds meet required quality standards
Working closely with supervisors, fabricators, apprentices and other trades to overcome production challenges
Maintaining a safe, clean and productive working environmentAdditional welding experience such as MMA, MIG/MAG, Submerged Arc or Stud Welding would be advantageous.
Essential Requirements
Proven FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) experience - essential
Experience welding carbon steel
Ability to weld in multiple positions
Experience working to welding procedures and technical drawings
Relevant welding qualifications and trade papers
Strong understanding of:
Welding procedures
Welding consumables
Safe working practices
Manufacturing processes

£38.70 - £66.22 per hour
