How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About Aptia

Aptia is a leading professional services firm dedicated to simplifying complexity for businesses and individuals. We bring together cutting-edge technology and deep industry expertise to help organisations navigate an evolving landscape with clarity and confidence. With a presence in the US, UK, India, and Portugal, we support over six million people and more than 1,100 clients, delivering solutions that drive efficiency, enhance financial security, and provide peace of mind.

We have strengthened our capability by launching a new Consulting and Actuarial business within Aptia’s UK business. This has been enabled by the acquisition of Atkin Pensions, a specialist firm of consulting actuaries and administrators.

This move is in direct response to what our clients have been asking for – a single, trusted partner that can deliver administration, actuarial expertise, and strategic consulting in one, cohesive service. By bringing Atkin Pensions into Aptia, we are now able to offer a fully integrated proposition for our clients.

    The Role

As a Pensions Administrator, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge within our Atkin Pensions Administration team, while supporting our service delivery to both clients and individual members. This is a great opportunity to learn as part of a small, busy team and develop your pensions knowledge further.

This role will work from the office 5 days a week based in Solihull.

This position will be offered on a 12 month fixed term basis (maternity cover) but there may be opportunities to explore permanent roles elsewhere in the business towards the end of your contract, and internal mobility is highly encouraged.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • A variety of administration activities connected to the running of a pension scheme, including leavers, data changes, setting up benefits into payment, general policyholder enquiries and annual scheme updates
    • Performing pensions calculations, with the support of your team, enter pensions data or answer enquiries
    • Work within specified timescales and produce quality work within this
    • Work as part of a team, collaborating to continuously improve processes and service to clients

    What we’re looking for

    • Strong numeracy skills, comfortable working in a numbers based role
    • Some experience in pensions administration would be ideal, including knowledge of DB pensions
    • GCSE level education with Mathematics and English Language Grade C or above
    • Good IT skills, comfortable working with systems and programmes such as MS Office
    • Organised with strong attention to detail
    • Able to work and collaborate as part of a team
    • Able to understand and follow set processes

If you are interested in this role and then we’d love to hear from you. Please click apply to allow you to submit your CV.
