How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

My client, a leading UK professional membership organisation is looking for an experienced Education & Courses (Events) Manager to join its busy Education and Events team on a 14-month fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional to take ownership of a varied programme of educational courses and events, working with senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts across the organisation. You will manage events from initial planning through to delivery, ensuring they are engaging, well-promoted, commercially successful and delivered to a consistently high standard.
    The Role
Reporting to the Head of Education, Conference and Operations, you will lead the delivery of a portfolio of educational courses across both in-person and online formats.
    Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the end-to-end delivery of educational courses and events, from initial planning through to completion.
Developing and managing event budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring financial and attendance targets are achieved.
Working with senior stakeholders, committees, course directors and subject-matter experts to develop and improve the events programme.
Working closely with Marketing to create and deliver campaigns that increase registrations, engagement and event revenue.
Managing venues, catering, AV, production companies, facilitators and other event suppliers, including contract negotiation.
Managing event administration, communications and logistics, ensuring exceptional attention to detail throughout.
Supporting the delivery of the organisation's Annual Conference, including responsibility for specific areas of the programme.
Working collaboratively with the wider Education and Events team and providing committee support where required.
We are looking for an organised, commercially aware and proactive events professional who enjoys managing a varied workload and working with a wide range of stakeholders.
    You will ideally have:
At least 2 years' end-to-end events management experience, ideally within healthcare, education, professional membership or the charity/third sector.
Strong experience managing event budgets and financial targets.
Experience promoting and marketing events, including writing engaging event copy.
Experience managing external suppliers, venues and event contracts.
This is a 14-month Mat Cover contract, paying 41K plus bens. The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week in the Londin-based office.
