How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead the future of Engineering education

    Solihull College & University Centre is seeking an ambitious and inspirational Programme Manager to lead and develop our Engineering provision.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced curriculum professional to play a significant leadership role within one of the College's largest and most strategically important curriculum areas. Working closely with the Head of School, you will drive improvements in learner outcomes, lead and develop curriculum teams, strengthen employer engagement, and ensure our provision remains innovative, industry relevant and responsive to regional skills priorities.

    You will have responsibility for supporting high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Engineering programmes, while helping to shape curriculum developments that prepare learners for successful careers in modern industry.

    About the role

    As Programme Manager, you will:

    * Lead and develop a team of teachers, assessors and technical staff.

    * Drive improvements in attendance, retention, achievement and progression.

    * Use data and performance intelligence to identify priorities and deliver measurable improvement.

    * Support curriculum planning, innovation and quality improvement activity.

    * Develop strong partnerships with employers and stakeholders to enhance learner opportunities and curriculum relevance.

    * Contribute to staff development, performance management and succession planning.

    * Help deliver an ambitious learner experience that prepares students for employment, apprenticeships and higher-level study.

    This role offers significant opportunity to influence curriculum development, drive performance and contribute to the future growth of Engineering provision.

    About you

    We are looking for an individual who:

    * Has a degree or significant industry experience within Engineering.

    * Has experience of teaching within Further Education or a related training environment.

    * Has experience of leading or coordinating curriculum provision and supporting staff performance.

    * Demonstrates a strong understanding of quality improvement and learner outcomes.

    * Is confident using data to identify issues and implement effective interventions.

    * Can build productive relationships with employers and external partners.

    * Is committed to delivering excellent learner experiences and positive outcomes.

    Most importantly, you will be a proactive and collaborative leader who is passionate about developing people, improving performance and creating opportunities for learners to succeed.
