How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production and Continuous Improvement Engineer to become an integral part of our clients growing, friendly team at an industry-leading organisation in the manufacturing sector.

    A globally recognised organisation renowned for its innovation and operational excellence, where you'll play a key role in enhancing production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    The Role:

    As a Production and Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will work within the Production Engineering Team to support a welding value stream, encompassing both manual and automated processes.

    Your mission? To assess, analyse, and develop continuous improvement opportunities that maximise value-added production output while ensuring cost-effectiveness.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct Value Stream Mapping and time studies to aid labour and capacity planning.
    Maintain the accuracy of bills of materials and part locations.
    Develop and document production processes through Standard Operating Procedures and Works Instructions.
    Collaborate with the Environmental Health & Safety Officer to enhance Health & Safety and Environmental targets.
    Perform audits on production processes to ensure adherence to company standards.
    Engage in hands-on analysis and problem-solving for all production processes.
    Drive logistics development, implementing refined parts flow and material control processes.
    Champion excellent housekeeping standards through 5S and Visual Factory practises.
    Manage small to medium projects from initiation to implementation and handover.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5 years of relevant experience.
    Proven knowledge of Lean methodologies in manufacturing.
    Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
    Project management experience.
    Familiarity with manual and automated welding processes.
    Experience with logistics-based processes and CAD packages (preferably AutoCAD and Creo).

    Characteristics:

    Adaptable and responsive to changes in production engineering.
    Exceptional organisational, planning, and implementation skills.
    Quick problem identification and resolution abilities.
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Self-driven with a positive, results-oriented attitude.

    Salary & Working Hours:

    40 hours per week: Monday to Thursday (07:30 - 16:30) and Friday (07:30 - 13:30).

    £42,000-£45,000
