How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant - Rotherham

    Are you an experienced and supportive Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for flexible opportunities across Rotherham?

    Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistants to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of welcoming and supportive schools throughout Rotherham.

    This Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience or knowledge of supporting children and young people with Autism, SEMH needs, ADHD and other additional needs. Working as an Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant in Rotherham may involve providing 1:1 support, small group intervention or wider classroom assistance.

    Position: Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant
    Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
    Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
    Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)

    About the Role

    Working as an Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant in Rotherham, you will help pupils access learning while supporting their social, emotional and behavioural development.

    The Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant role in Rotherham offers variety and flexibility, with opportunities across different school environments. You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small intervention groups or as part of the wider classroom team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and other additional needs
    Provide 1:1 and small group support where required

    Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
    Adapt support to meet individual needs

    Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism or SEMH
    Knowledge of additional needs such as ADHD, Autism and behavioural needs
    Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
