How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Design Engineer (Composite Parts) - Senior/Lead Engineer

    Eynsham, Oxfordshire | Permanent | Full-Time (On-Site)

Aerospace | Motorsport | Defence | Advanced Manufacturing

Are you an experienced Composite Design Engineer looking for a role where you’ll own the complete design process and work directly with customers on technically challenging projects?

Do you have unfettered right to work in the UK ie not on a VISA?

We are an agile, innovative manufacturer of complex metallic and composite components, supplying the aerospace, motorsport, defence and advanced engineering sectors. Specialising in low-volume, high-complexity products with rapid development times, we offer an exciting environment where no two projects are the same.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident design engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working closely with customers, and taking responsibility from concept through to manufacture.

    The Role

Working directly with customers, you will create 3D and 2D CAD designs for composite components using Siemens NX. Some projects involve refining existing customer geometry into a fully manufacturable design, incorporating features such as draft angles, split lines and tooling considerations. Others require capturing customer requirements and developing complete component geometry from scratch.

Success in this role requires more than strong CAD skills—you’ll be comfortable engaging with customers, understanding their technical requirements and providing confidence that their design objectives will be achieved.

This is a permanent, site-based position in Eynsham, Oxfordshire, working five days per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Work closely with customers on fast-paced, technically demanding development projects.

    * Interpret customer requirements and transform concepts or supplied geometry into production-ready composite part designs.

    * Create complex surface geometry, offsets, draft features, split lines and tooling considerations using Siemens NX.

    * Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.

    * Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs).

    * Carry out basic CAE analysis or interpret externally supplied CAE data to optimise design performance.

    * Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure designs are both technically robust and manufacturable.

    * Participate in customer design reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

    About You

We’re looking for an experienced Design Engineer with:

    * Unfettered right to work in the UK ie no visa requirement

    * OND, HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Approximately 5+ years’ experience designing composite components within aerospace, motorsport, automotive, defence or another advanced engineering environment.

    * Strong 3D CAD surfacing experience (Siemens NX preferred, although other high-end CAD packages will be considered).

    * Experience working directly with customers, including technical discussions and design reviews.

    * A practical understanding of composite manufacturing methods and design for manufacture principles.

    * Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build trusted relationships with customers and colleagues.

    What’s on Offer

    * Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects across multiple high-performance industries.

    * High levels of autonomy and responsibility.

    * Direct customer interaction with genuine influence over project outcomes.

    * A varied role where you’ll see designs progress from concept through to manufacture.

    * The opportunity to mentor and develop junior engineers as the team grows.

    * A collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment where your ideas and expertise make a real difference.

If you’re passionate about composite design and want to work on technically challenging projects in a highly innovative business, we’d love to hear from you
