How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    National Sales Manager

    £62,000 + Performance-Related Bonus | Full-Time | Permanent | Telford, Shropshire

    We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an established UK manufacturer of traffic safety solutions for an experienced and commercially driven National Sales Manager.

    With a strong reputation for quality, innovation and British engineering, our client is entering an exciting period of growth and is looking for an inspirational sales leader to help shape and deliver its next phase of expansion.

    This is a senior commercial opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who can combine strategic thinking, hands-on sales leadership and strong key account management to deliver sustainable revenue growth.

    The Role

    As National Sales Manager, you will lead, develop and inspire the sales team while working closely with the Managing Director to deliver the company's commercial strategy.

    You will take ownership of sales performance across the business, strengthen key customer relationships, identify new opportunities and help create a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture.

    The role will combine sales strategy, team leadership, key account management, business development, tendering and market development, with the opportunity to influence future product and commercial strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company targets and increase market presence.
    Lead, coach and develop the national sales team.
    Establish a performance-led and customer-first sales culture.
    Ensure effective pipeline management, CRM usage, forecasting and follow-up activity.
    Monitor sales performance and produce monthly sales reports.
    Own and develop key customer accounts, increasing revenue, retention and long-term contracts.
    Identify and convert new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
    Lead and support public and private sector tenders, frameworks and contract submissions.
    Manage pricing and rebate enquiries.
    Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to identify opportunities.
    Provide market intelligence to influence product development and commercial strategy.
    Work closely with the Managing Director to identify emerging markets and innovation opportunities.
    Manage and represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
    Safeguard existing contracts and ensure customer KPIs and commitments are delivered.
    Work collaboratively with product development and operations teams to support customer and commercial objectives.
    Champion an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.
    Support the integration of social value and ESG commitments into commercial activity.About You

    We are looking for an established B2B sales leader with a proven record of delivering growth and developing successful sales teams.

    You will be commercially astute, highly customer-focused and confident operating at both strategic and operational levels.

    You should have:

    Proven experience leading a national B2B sales team.
    A strong track record of sales growth and consistently achieving or exceeding targets.
    Excellent commercial and negotiation skills.
    Strong key account management experience.
    Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
    Experience managing CRM systems, sales pipelines and forecasting.
    Strong coaching and team leadership capabilities.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A proactive and results-driven approach.
    The ability to identify market opportunities and turn them into commercial results. A genuine interest in innovation and product development. The ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
    Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally when required.Desirable Experience

    Experience within any of the following sectors would be advantageous:

    Manufacturing
    Infrastructure
    Lighting
    Construction products
    Traffic and highways
    Public realm
    Public sector
    Engineering products
    Experience with public sector tenders, frameworks, social value reporting or ESG initiatives would also be beneficial.The Opportunity
