How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Engineer - MEP

    Rickmansworth / West London

    Hybrid working - typically three days on site and two days from home or another office

    Up to £71,000 DOE + 12% Pension, 33 Days Holiday + Progression

    Full-time / Permanent

    Are you an MEP Project Engineer, Field Engineer or M&E Engineer with experience overseeing complex installation, testing and commissioning works?

    This is an opportunity to join a major UK infrastructure programme as it moves from completed civil engineering works into a significant phase of MEP installation across five tunnel shafts.

    You will provide client-side technical and construction assurance, with a strong site presence reviewing installation quality, checking works against approved designs and supporting testing and commissioning activities.

    Working closely with contractors, designers and technical specialists, you will help identify and resolve engineering issues while ensuring works meet the required technical, quality and assurance standards.

    The Role:

    Providing client-side technical assurance across major MEP works
    Overseeing MEP installation across five tunnel shafts
    Reviewing works against approved designs, specifications and standards
    Identifying technical issues, defects and non-compliance
    Supporting inspections, testing and commissioning activities
    Working with contractors and engineering teams to resolve site issues
    Supporting NEC Supervisor and construction assurance responsibilities
    Reviewing drawings, technical submissions and engineering evidence
    Permanent position with long-term progression across a major infrastructure programmeThe Person:

    Strong MEP experience across mechanical, electrical, public health or building services
    Experience overseeing complex MEP installation, testing and commissioning within a live construction environment
    Previous experience within rail, tunnelling or similarly complex major infrastructure
    Strong understanding of construction and technical assurance
    Confident reviewing works and challenging contractors where required
    Experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, MEP Engineer or similar
    Able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements
    NEC Supervisor experience or knowledge would be beneficial
    Experience within major rail, tunnelling or station environments would be advantageous
