Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Salary: £37,000
Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 home; initial 5 days in office for onboarding
Contract: Permanent
Location: Central London
This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join a collaborative and supportive payroll team, gaining exposure to a varied client base while managing payrolls end-to-end.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of your own client payroll portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely processing while supporting senior team members where required. This is a hands-on role offering strong development opportunities within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payrolls for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
* Handle PAYE/NIC calculations and BACS payments
* Manage payroll queries from clients and internal stakeholders
* Liaise with HMRC regarding PAYE matters
* Support the setup of new PAYE schemes and payroll systems
* Maintain accurate records and workflow updates within payroll systems
* Assist with process improvements and ad hoc payroll tasks
About You
* Minimum 2 years’ payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy or bureau environment
* Strong understanding of auto-enrolment and payroll legislation
* Confident in manual payroll calculations (PAYE/NIC)
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
* Excellent communication and Excel skills
* Experience with payroll systems (e.g. Paycircle) is advantageous
