How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor – Bespoke / Super Prime Principal Contractor – Central & South-West London

    Salary/Package: £75,000 – £85,000 + Healthcare + Pension + Travel Expenses

    O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a bespoke and highly regarded principal contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, overseeing multiple high-end projects across Central and South-West London.

    The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility across a number of bespoke and super-prime schemes ranging from approximately £1m – £5m, working closely with the wider project teams and senior management to ensure the successful commercial delivery of each project.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business that is experiencing continued growth. The position is a newly created role rather than a replacement, providing a genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in the company's expansion and take advantage of significant long-term progression opportunities.

    The role will be primarily based from the company's office, within walking distance of Oxford Circus, with projects located throughout Central and South-West London.

    Role Overview

    Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
    Project: Multiple Bespoke / Super Prime Residential refurb/new-build Projects
    Location: Central & South-West London
    Project Values: £1m – £5m
    Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + Package
    Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
    Type: Permanent

    Responsibilities:

    • Taking commercial responsibility for multiple bespoke and super-prime projects ranging from £1m – £5m
    • Procuring and commercially managing subcontract packages from tender through to final account
    • Preparing subcontract enquiries, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations for award
    • Managing subcontractor payments, valuations, variations and final accounts
    • Monitoring project costs, forecasting expenditure and maintaining accurate commercial reporting
    • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate cost control measures
    • Working closely with project managers, construction teams, design teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and specialist subcontractors
    • Supporting the continued growth and development of the commercial function as the business expands

    Requirements

    • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting or principal contracting environment
    • Previous experience delivering high-end residential, bespoke or super-prime projects would be advantageous
    • Experience commercially managing multiple projects and subcontract packages
    • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
    • Ability to operate autonomously while working effectively as part of a wider project team
    • Comfortable working across Central and South-West London
    • Ambition to progress within a growing and expanding business
