The Opportunity
We're recruiting on behalf of an established and growing specialist logistics business operating across the UK and Europe.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced European Road Freight Forwarder to join a fast-paced operation where speed, accuracy and customer service really matter.
The business specialises in time-critical and expedited logistics, supporting customers where a delayed shipment simply isn't an option. You'll be working on a varied mix of dedicated, part-load, full-load and urgent European movements, with plenty of autonomy and responsibility from quote through to delivery.

The Role
You'll take ownership of European road freight movements from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Handling customer enquiries by telephone and email.
Quoting for dedicated, part-load, full-load and expedited European shipments.
Sourcing suitable capacity from a European subcontractor/carrier network.
Negotiating competitive transport rates.
Booking and managing shipments from start to finish.
Coordinating customs clearance and ensuring the correct documentation is in place.
Providing customers with regular shipment updates.
Managing multiple live shipments while keeping deadlines and service levels on track.
Resolving problems quickly and proactively when plans change.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have 2+ years' experience within European road freight forwarding and be confident managing shipments independently.
You should have experience with:
European road freight forwarding.
FTL, part-load and groupage movements.
Quoting, buying and booking freight.
UK and EU customs procedures.
Incoterms and standard freight documentation.
Negotiating rates with hauliers/carriers.
Managing multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Communicating confidently with customers and suppliers.Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially minded, resilient and enjoys solving problems. If you're the type of person who can stay calm when a vehicle breaks down, a collection changes at short notice or a customer needs an urgent solution, you'll be well suited to this environment.
Hours
The operation runs a rotating two-week pattern:
Week 1: Monday-Friday, 07:00-16:00
Week 2: Monday-Friday, 10:00-19:00
No weekends. No on-call.
