Payroll & Finance Officer

Location: Coventry – Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
Pay: £17.47 per hour PAYE
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 9:00am–5:00pm
Contract: Temporary – could become perm for the right candidate
Start: ASAP

## The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll & Finance Officer to support a busy Payroll Bureau function in Coventry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payroll administration, balancing and reconciliation experience who is confident investigating discrepancies and maintaining accurate financial records.

## Key Responsibilities

Process, validate and reconcile payroll information.

Complete payroll balancing and identify discrepancies.

Investigate and resolve payroll queries and errors.

Support BACS payments and other payroll transactions.

Process statutory deductions and ensure payroll compliance.

Assist with payroll audits and year-end processes.

Maintain accurate payroll and financial records.

Support budget monitoring, reporting and financial controls.

Provide payroll guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
## Essential Experience

Previous payroll processing experience.
Strong payroll reconciliation and balancing skills.
Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
Good Excel skills.
Experience using payroll and finance systems.
Ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
## Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be particularly beneficial:

Payroll Bureau environments.
Pensions administration.
Public sector or local government payroll.
ResourceLink payroll system.
Unit4 / Business World finance system.
IR35 and P11D processes.
