About the Role

Adecco are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation in Gloucestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter to become part of a skilled production team responsible for assembling complex mechanical equipment from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in the build, assembly and preparation of bespoke engineered products, ensuring they meet the highest quality and performance standards.

This role offers long-term career stability, ongoing training and the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble complex mechanical equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Interpret bills of materials, assembly instructions and production specifications.
Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment and installation activities.
Complete production documentation, check sheets and quality records accurately.
Identify and report assembly, quality or engineering issues.
Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure products meet required standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
Adhere to all Health & Safety and company procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' hands-on mechanical fitting or assembly experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills.
Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience assembling mechanical machinery, industrial equipment or engineered products.
Manufacturing or production environment experience.
Knowledge of quality documentation and inspection procedures.
Experience working from bills of materials and assembly instructions.
