How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Junior Buyer / Purchaser

Join a growing luxury interiors business and build your career in purchasing.

Established in 2007, The Showroom Ltd is a successful and growing retailer specialising in high-end bathroom, plumbing, and electrical products. Based in Kensington, we work with leading suppliers and a loyal customer base across London and the UK.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised Purchaser / Junior Buyer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and is looking to develop a long-term career in purchasing and procurement.

No direct purchasing experience? That's okay. We're happy to provide full training to the right candidate with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

    About the Role

Working closely with our Managing Director, you'll play an important role in ensuring products are ordered accurately, suppliers are well managed, and stock levels are maintained to support our busy operation.

With around 1,000 orders processed each month, you'll be part of a dynamic team where no two days are the same.

    What You'll Be Doing

    * Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently

    * Handling supplier pricing queries and working with our accounts team

    * Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers

    * Negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms

    * Following up on order confirmations and updating delivery information

    * Monitoring outstanding orders and communicating any delays

    * Helping maintain appropriate stock levels across key product ranges

    * Reviewing product demand and supporting purchasing decisions

    * Assisting colleagues with other duties as needed

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

    * Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

    * Able to manage their workload and prioritise tasks effectively

    * Confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues

    * Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications

    * Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn

    * Able to work well in a fast-paced environment

    * A positive team player with a professional attitude

    What We Offer

    * Starting salary: £25,500 per year

    * Performance and salary review after 6 months

    * Full-time, permanent position

    * 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

    * Workplace pension scheme

    * Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (45-minute lunch break)

    * Full training and ongoing support

    * Opportunity to grow and develop within an established and expanding business
