Quality Engineer - Hoyland, Barnsley - £42,000
Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing operations by maintaining and improving quality processes, procedures, and standards.
Lead and facilitate structured problem-solving activities to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Conduct internal audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements.
Analyse quality performance data and provide insight-driven recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
Investigate non-conformances, customer concerns, and production quality issues, ensuring effective containment and long-term resolutions.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and process capability.
Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Support risk reduction activities through process reviews and quality planning techniques.
Skills & Experience Required as a Quality Engineer:
Previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
ISO 9001 auditing experience or qualification.
Strong understanding of quality management systems and quality assurance principles.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or similar.
Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business.
Self-motivated with a positive and solution-focused approach.
