How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Join our client's dynamic and friendly team at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Barnsley!

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to oversee CNC machining operations in a thriving environment. If you're passionate about leading teams and driving production excellence, we want to hear from you!

    With a global customer base and a team of over 400 dedicated professionals across multiple UK sites, they are committed to excellence in everything they do.

    Position Overview:

    The Team Leader will play a crucial role in managing a production area within the overall production function.

    You will leverage your expertise in CNC machining and robotics to lead your team effectively, ensuring that output targets are consistently met.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Team Leadership:

    Organise and control staff efficiently.

    Communicate regularly through daily team meetings and stakeholder sessions.

    Performance Management:

    - Provide guidance to achieve full flexibility and balance in operations.
    - Monitor performance metrics related to accidents, quality defects, productivity, and stock accuracy.

    Compliance & Quality Assurance:

    Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, including risk assessments and safety barometers.
    Maintain ISO 9001 compliance through audits and quality control processes.

    Continuous Improvement:

    Implement lean manufacturing principles to eliminate non-value-added operations.
    Drive initiatives forKaizen and5S to enhance workplace organisation and efficiency.
    Operational Efficiency:

    Collaborate with Production Administrators and Section Managers to control build plan delivery.
    Manage hands-on maintenance to minimise line stoppages and ensure targets are met.

    Experience & Skills Required:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.

    Proven experience managing a multi-skilled team and knowledge of capacity planning.

    Basic technical and inspection knowledge related to CNC machining and robotics.

    Experience in a lean manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

    Strong ability to uphold high commercial quality standards.

    Working Hours & Salary:

    Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30-16:30 (30 minutes unpaid lunch), Friday 07:30-13:30 (40 hours per week).

    Salary: £41,000

    Pay & Benefits:

    Monthly bonus based on performance .

    25 days holiday (increasing with service) plus bank holidays.
