How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Multi-Axis CNC Programmer

Location: Mid Kent (ideally you’ll be a driver with your own transport)
    Package: c. £35,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience and skill set + overtime + benefits + progression!
    Core Hours: Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm

If you know your way around multi-axis CNC programming and enjoy seeing a programme turn into a genuinely impressive, finished product, this could be a brilliant next move.

We’re recruiting for a growing, ambitious manufacturing business in Sittingbourne that produces technically challenging, high-quality bespoke work.

They’re investing in their capability, growing the business significantly and looking for a talented CNC Programmer who can become an important part of that journey.

If you’ve programmed multi-axis CNC machinery within aerospace, automotive, engineering, composites, plastics, furniture, woodworking or another manufacturing environment, we’d like to hear from you.

    What makes this opportunity different?

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days loading somebody else’s programmes and pressing cycle start.

They need someone who can actually programme.

You’ll be taking technical information and turning it into efficient, accurate CNC programmes, thinking about tooling and machining strategy, solving problems and making sure the finished components are right.

The work is varied, bespoke and quality-driven, so there’s plenty to get your teeth into technically rather than producing the same component thousands of times.

You’ll be joining an established business with exciting growth plans, a modern manufacturing environment and a team that takes real pride in what it produces.

This company have state of the art facilities, and will invest in people who invest in them!

    What will you be doing?

You’ll take ownership of CNC programming and machining, including:

    * Creating CNC programmes from technical drawings and CAD/DXF information

    * Programming and working with multi-axis CNC machinery

    * Setting tooling and preparing machines for different jobs

    * Optimising programmes to improve efficiency, accuracy and material usage

    * Checking finished components against drawings and specifications

    * Troubleshooting programming and machining issues

    * Working closely with production colleagues to keep work moving

    * Contributing ideas and using your technical knowledge to improve how things are done

    What are we looking for?

The biggest thing is that you’re a genuine CNC Programmer, not solely a CNC Operator.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * Strong hands-on CNC programming experience

    * Experience programming multi-axis machinery

    * Confidence working from technical drawings

    * Experience using CAD/CAM or CNC programming software

    * A good understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining principles

    * The ability to problem-solve when a programme or component isn’t behaving as expected

    * High standards when it comes to accuracy and finished quality

    * A reliable, conscientious approach to work

Your industry background is not important. If you have the technical CNC skills, the business is open-minded about where you’ve gained them.

Likewise, you do not need experience on a particular brand of CNC machine. Your underlying programming knowledge and ability to learn are much more important.

    The package

Salary: c. £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience and capability
Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday with 1 hour unpaid for lunch
    Overtime: Available and paid
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays
    Pension: Company pension
Extras: On-site gym, shower and breakout facilities, company events, training and development and discretionary bonus

Most importantly, you’ll be joining a business that is growing and investing for the future. They have ambitious plans and want people who are excited by being part of that growth rather than simply turning up and doing the same job every day.

If you’re a CNC Programmer who enjoys the technical side of machining, likes solving problems and wants to work somewhere producing interesting, high-quality work, apply today
