The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will provide a comprehensive range of professional Building Surveying services, acting as a trusted adviser to clients and taking ownership of instructions from inception through to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
Undertaking building surveys, condition surveys and defect investigations.
Preparing schedules of condition and schedules of dilapidations.
Providing professional advice on planned maintenance and lifecycle requirements.
Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
Producing detailed professional reports and technical advice.
Advising clients on building defects, remedial solutions and maintenance requirements.
Undertaking contract administration and project management.
Managing refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects from inception through to completion.
Carrying out project monitoring and site inspections.
Preparing reinstatement cost assessments and other professional reports.
Managing multiple instructions and projects while maintaining high standards of service.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients.
Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring, guidance and technical development.
Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Building Surveying service.
About You
The successful candidate will be:
MRICS qualified – essential.
Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
Experienced within a professional Building Surveying consultancy environment.
Confident delivering a broad range of professional surveying services.
Technically strong, with an excellent understanding of building construction, defects and remedial solutions.
Experienced in producing high-quality professional reports and specifications.
Commercially aware, with the ability to manage instructions and projects effectively.
Confident dealing directly with clients and other professional stakeholders.
An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
Organised and capable of managing a varied workload with minimal supervision.
A proactive and collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to delivering excellent client service.
