How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Planner
    Major Infrastructure
    London
    Up to £85,000 plus package

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Planner to join a leading international construction and civil engineering contractor, working on a major infrastructure project in London.

This is a key role within the project management team, responsible for providing an efficient and effective planning, scheduling and project performance reporting function across a complex delivery environment.

    The Role

As Lead Planner, you will take ownership of developing, maintaining and managing detailed project programmes, working closely with the construction, technical, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Developing and maintaining detailed, resourced project programmes.
Reviewing construction progress, updating programmes and producing performance reports.
Undertaking programme risk analysis and developing mitigation measures.
Programming compensation events, scope changes and additional works.
Supporting effective interface and coordination management across the project.
Planning temporary works activities to ensure designs are completed and approved ahead of construction requirements.
Working closely with the Commercial Team to understand the cost and contractual implications of programme changes.
Coordinating subcontractor programmes and incorporating subcontractor data into the overall project programme.
Identifying areas of concern and working with the wider project team to develop mitigation strategies.
Supporting project delivery to ensure works are completed on time or ahead of programme.
Producing both internal and external programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

HNC in a construction-related discipline or extensive experience within the civil engineering contracting industry.
Strong experience in tunnelling and/or ground engineering environments.
Proven experience across planning and programming for both tender and contract delivery.
A strong understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with project planning.
Competent use of industry planning software and Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with construction teams, commercial teams, designers and subcontractors.
    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major international contractor and play a leading role within a complex London infrastructure project, with genuine responsibility across programme management, project performance and delivery.

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Package

If you are an experienced Planner, Senior Planner or Planning Lead with a background in civil engineering, tunnelling or ground engineering and are looking for your next major project opportunity, we would be keen to hear from you.
