How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Support - Labourer / Handyman

    £13.53 per hour, increasing to £14.20 following successful completion of probation

    We are looking for an experienced Production Support Labourer / Handyman to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous labouring, handyman or general facilities experience who enjoys working within a professional manufacturing environment.

    The business manufactures high-quality aerospace components and is looking for someone to support the day-to-day upkeep of its manufacturing facility, ensuring the shop floor and surrounding areas remain clean, tidy and well maintained.

    This role would suit an experienced Labourer, Handyman or Production Support Operative who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation and is happy to undertake a varied range of practical duties.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintain high standards of general shop floor tidiness, including sweeping, mopping and emptying bins.
    Carry out general housekeeping duties across the manufacturing facility.
    Dispose of swarf and scrap metal safely from the factory into designated skips.
    Carry out general DIY, maintenance and handyman-type tasks as required.
    Complete basic gardening and external maintenance duties, including perimeter weeding.
    Provide ad-hoc forklift support as cover for other members of staff when required.
    Carry out occasional driving duties to support the wider operation.
    Support packaging activities on an ad-hoc basis as cover for other members of staff.
    Ensure all duties are completed safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
    Maintain high housekeeping standards and comply with the company's 5S standards.
    Work closely with production and other departments to maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.Key Skills

    Previous labourer, handyman or similar experience within a manufacturing environment.
    Experience carrying out general housekeeping and practical maintenance duties.
    Strong commitment to maintaining high levels of shop floor cleanliness and tidiness.
    Practical and hands-on approach to work.
    Reliable and organised with a strong work ethic.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
    Willingness to undertake a varied range of duties depending on operational requirements.
    Commitment to safe working practices and maintaining 5S standards.Desirable Skills

    Previous experience within an aerospace, engineering or manufacturing environment.
    Previous forklift experience.
    Experience carrying out general DIY or basic maintenance tasks.
    Previous driving or delivery experience.
    Experience supporting packaging or stores activities.What you get in return
