Sheet Metal Foreman

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 DOE
Type: Permanent Role
Hours: Monday - Friday 06:00am - 15:00pm
The Role
We are working with an established engineering client, based in Kent. Due to an increase in workload and a retirement, they are looking to recruit a Foreman for their Sheet Metal Section.
As the Foreman, you will oversee day-to-day operations within the sheet metal department, working directly with the Team Leaders to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising and supporting the Team Leaders over the sheet metal dept.
* Planning and allocating daily workloads.
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Overseeing fabrication, forming, cutting, folding and assembly processes.
* Ensuring production targets and deadlines are achieved.
* Carrying out quality checks and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
* Supporting the team with technical issues and problem-solving.
* Monitoring materials, tools, and equipment.
* Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed.
* Working closely with Production and Engineering teams to improve efficiency
What They're Looking For
* Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication is essential.
* Previous supervisory or foreman experience is highly desirable. (3-5 years minimum)
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good knowledge of sheet metal processes and fabrication techniques.
* Confident leadership and communication skills
* Lean Manufacturing, 3S/5S, IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, Forklift Licence, ERP/MRP experience desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and quality.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to motivate and support a team in a busy manufacturing environment.
