As an Apprentice Welder, your responsibilities will include

*

Learning a range of welding and fabrication techniques under supervision, including TIG welding processes.

*

Supporting the fabrication and welding of components for sectors including aerospace and defence.

*

Developing the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.

*

Assisting with preparation, measurement, cutting, assembly and finishing activities as part of the welding process.

*

Working towards achieving the required standards, quality expectations and apprenticeship milestones.

*

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.

*

Following all health, safety and environmental procedures always.

About You – Requirements

*

Willingness to learn, take instruction and develop practical skills in a workshop environment.

*

Good attention to detail and a positive attitude towards quality and safety.

*

Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and mentors.

*

Good timekeeping, reliability and commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme.

*

GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent, are desirable. Support may be available where functional skills are required.
