How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Teach Now is seeking a warm, organised and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a supportive primary school in Enfield.

You will help children make the important transition from early learning into the more structured KS1 curriculum. Your support will strengthen pupils’ phonics, early reading, writing and number skills while helping them develop confidence, independence and positive classroom habits.

The school would particularly welcome someone who understands that young children learn best through clear routines, encouragement, purposeful talk and carefully structured activities.

    Your Role Will Include

Supporting the class teacher during lessons and activities

Delivering phonics practice and early-reading interventions

Listening to pupils read and recording their progress

Supporting early writing, handwriting and number work

Preparing practical resources and learning areas

Helping pupils follow routines and manage transitions

Providing additional support for children with SEND or communication needs

Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and cooperation

Supervising children safely during different parts of the school day

Sharing observations with the teacher and SENCO

    What We Are Looking For

    You should have:

Experience working with children in EYFS or KS1

A basic understanding of systematic synthetic phonics

Strong spoken English and clear communication

Patience, creativity and a nurturing approach

The ability to engage young children while maintaining clear expectations

Confidence supporting early literacy and numeracy

Reliable attendance, punctuality and professional conduct

The right to work in the UK

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

    Two satisfactory professional references

A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, childcare or early years would be desirable. Experience with speech-and-language needs or programmes such as Read Write Inc. would also be useful.

    What the School Offers

A welcoming KS1 team with shared resources and planning

Clear classroom routines and an inclusive approach

Opportunities to develop phonics and intervention experience

Support from the class teacher, phase leader and SENCO

A long-term role offering consistency and meaningful pupil relationships

Valuable experience for future teacher training or specialist-support roles
