How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We’re building thriving communities as one of the UK’s largest housing groups and a leading developer of affordable housing.

We believe everyone is entitled to a good home they can afford, in a place they are proud to live. More than 100,000 people live in our homes.

If you want to experience work that’s truly rewarding, join us. Because when we achieve together, customers and communities thrive.

Work for Orbit. Believe in people.

    The role

As we transform our Property Directorate, we're looking for a talented Mobilisation Manager to help shape the future of our repairs, maintenance, compliance and investment services.

This is an exciting 18-month fixed-term contract opportunity, offering the chance to work at the heart of one of Orbit's most significant transformation programmes.

Whether you're looking to broaden your experience through a fixed term contract or take the next step in your programme management career, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

This role is part of Property where you'll help us to lead the way investing and maintaining 46,000 homes.

    What you'll achieve

Working within our Property Transformation team, you'll manage the mobilisation and demobilisation of property contracts and services, ensuring every transition is carefully planned, well governed and successfully delivered.

You'll coordinate multiple workstreams, bringing together operational teams, contractors, suppliers and support functions to ensure new services are ready from day one while maintaining continuity for our customers throughout the transition.

No two projects will be the same. One week you could be coordinating operational readiness for a major contract mobilisation; the next you'll be managing programme risks or ensuring systems, data and processes are ready to support a seamless service launch.

Lead the end-to-end delivery of mobilisation and demobilisation programmes across Property.
Develop and manage detailed mobilisation plans, ensuring milestones, dependencies and risks are effectively managed.
Coordinate operational readiness across people, systems, data, suppliers and processes.
Work closely with colleagues across Property, Procurement, Commercial, HR, Legal and Technology.
Support contractor onboarding, service transitions and handovers.
Help manage TUPE activity and workforce transitions where required.
Monitor programme risks, governance and delivery performance.
Ensure our customers remain at the centre of every transition by minimising disruption and maintaining service continuity. What you'll bring

    Essential skills

You'll be a highly organised programme or project professional who enjoys bringing order to complexity and working with a wide range of stakeholders.

You'll ideally have experience within property services, facilities management, construction, housing or another operational environment where service continuity is critical.

Experience delivering projects, programmes or mobilisation activity.
Excellent planning, organisation and coordination skills.
Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.
The ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering successful outcomes. Why Orbit?
