How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Prepare and portion fish to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

    * Create nigiri, sashimi, maki, temaki and other sushi dishes with consistency and precision.

    * Maintain your section to ensure smooth and efficient service.

    * Follow food safety, hygiene and stock rotation procedures at all times.

    * Support the delivery of exceptional dining experiences through outstanding food quality.

    * Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to maintain service standards.

    * Ensure a clean, organised and efficient working environment.

    * Support and mentor junior chefs where appropriate.

    * Contribute ideas and enthusiasm towards the continued growth and success of the business.

    To be considered for these Sushi Chef opportunities, you will have:

    * A genuine passion for sushi, Japanese cuisine and premium ingredients.

    * Previous experience working within a professional kitchen environment.

    * Sushi preparation experience for more senior positions.

    * Excellent knife skills and strong attention to detail.

    * A commitment to delivering consistently high standards.

    * The ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.

    * Good food hygiene, food safety and kitchen compliance knowledge.

    * A positive attitude and strong team-working skills.

    * A desire to learn, develop and progress within the hospitality industry.

    * The right to work in the UK.

    Benefits

    * Competitive salary of £30,000 – £37,000 DOE.

    * Clear career progression opportunities within a growing hospitality group.

    * Ongoing training and development from experienced culinary professionals.

    * Private medical insurance.

    * Staff discounts across the business.
