How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

Distinction Education is delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Worcester.

We are looking for a compassionate and patient SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a wonderful child in Year 3 with autism. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, starting in September and initially running until the end of December. There is a strong likelihood that the role will be extended beyond December for the right candidate, making this an excellent long-term opportunity.

The child is a pleasure to work with, is eager to learn and enjoys being part of the classroom. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting their learning, encouraging independence, promoting positive social interactions and helping them access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs.

Working closely with the class teacher and the school's SENDCo, you will provide consistent one-to-one support, helping to create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment where the child can thrive both academically and personally.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and making a genuine difference to a child's educational journey within a supportive and caring school community.

    What You'll Need

To be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will have:

    *

Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism (ASD), is desirable.

    *

Experience working within a primary school or similar educational setting.

    *

A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

    *

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

The ability to adapt learning and support strategies to meet individual needs.

    *

A genuine passion for helping children develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

Whether you're an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience supporting children with additional needs in another setting, we'd love to hear from you.
