How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working alongside experienced data professionals, you'll support the development, maintenance and monitoring of data solutions that ensure our data is accurate, reliable and accessible for reporting, analytics and business insight.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in data engineering, gaining hands-on experience with modern data platforms, cloud technologies and data integration tools within a collaborative and supportive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop, maintain and support data pipelines that move data from source systems into data warehouses, lakehouses and other approved platforms.

    * Assist with the optimisation of data pipelines to improve performance, reliability, scalability and maintainability.

    * Write, test and maintain SQL queries, scripts and procedures to transform, validate and reconcile data.

    * Support data modelling and schema design activities that underpin reporting and analytics solutions.

    * Carry out data profiling, validation and quality checks, helping to identify and resolve data issues.

    * Support cloud-based data engineering activities using Microsoft technologies, including Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

    * Monitor scheduled data processes and integrations, investigating failures and supporting issue resolution.

    * Create and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines, processes, controls and operational procedures.

    * Work closely with BI Developers, Analysts and stakeholders to support trusted reporting and insight solutions.

    * Follow development, testing, deployment and change management best practices.

    * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance data quality and reduce manual effort.

    Skills, Experience and Qualifications

    Essential:

    * At least one year of relevant technical work experience, which may include data analysis, data engineering, software development, technical support, reporting or systems-related activity.

    * Good understanding of SQL and relational database concepts, with the ability to write, test and troubleshoot queries.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

    * Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical data-related tasks.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical processes clearly.

    * Proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks.

    * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    Desirable:

    * Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Informatica or similar ETL/data integration tools.

    * Understanding of data warehousing, data lakehouse concepts, data modelling and Power BI semantic models.

    * Exposure to Python, Git, DevOps practices, source control, testing or deployment methodologies.

    * Microsoft data certifications (such as DP-600 or DP-700), or a willingness to work towards professional certification.

    * Flexibility to travel to other offices or sites when required.

    Qualifications

    Desirable:

    * Relevant qualification in Data, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
