How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an Environment Manager, Environmental Advisor or Environmental Consultant with experience supporting major infrastructure or complex construction projects?

This is an excellent opportunity to move into a client-side position overseeing a major programme of tunnelling, shaft and heavy civil engineering works across London.

Working alongside the Senior Environment Manager, you will provide technical assurance across multiple live construction sites, reviewing contractor submissions, monitoring environmental performance and challenging areas of non-compliance.

The role covers a broad range of environmental risks, including waste, noise, vibration, air quality, water, permitting and environmental impact assessment. You will work with delivery teams, contractors, legal specialists, local authorities and other project stakeholders to ensure construction activities and proposed changes are managed correctly.

This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term progression across a major UK infrastructure programme, with exposure to a varied range of environmental topics, complex construction activities and senior stakeholders.

    The Role:

    * Providing client-side environmental assurance across major tunnelling, shaft and civil engineering works
    * Undertaking regular assurance visits across multiple live construction sites
    * Reviewing contractor environmental plans, permits, submissions and technical evidence
    * Monitoring compliance with environmental legislation and project requirements
    * Supporting the management of waste, noise, vibration, dust, air quality and water risks
    * Identifying environmental issues that may require early warnings or formal change management
    * Challenging poor performance and ensuring suitable mitigation measures are implemented
    * Supporting environmental stage gates, audits, reporting and performance reviews
    * Working with contractors, engineering teams, legal specialists, regulators and local stakeholders
    * Permanent position with hybrid working, a 12% employer pension, private healthcare and 25 days' holiday

    The Person:

    * Environmental experience within major infrastructure, civil engineering or complex construction
    * Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and construction environmental management
    * Experience working within a live construction environment
    * Experience reviewing environmental documentation, permits or contractor submissions
    * Understanding of environmental impact assessments and major project design interfaces
    * Confident influencing and challenging Tier 1 contractors and senior stakeholders
    * Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
    * Broad environmental knowledge or substantial experience within a relevant specialism
    * Experience within rail, tunnelling, highways, utilities, energy, nuclear or major civil engineering would be beneficial
    * Comfortable travelling between multiple construction sites across London
