How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Electrical Engineer

    Our client, a leader in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This permanent role focuses on electrical engineering within the distribution, transmission, renewables, and T&D industries.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Electrical Design

    Perform and manage the development of electrical EPC and ICP system designs from preliminary to detailed status
    Conduct steady state, dynamic and grid code compliance studies
    Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials
    Ensure compliance with engineering design packages
    Align electrical and civil design interfaces
    Resolve complex technical design issues and act as a primary electrical design authority
    Leadership

    Manage and support in-house electrical design resources and external contractors
    Provide mentorship and technical guidance
    Review and approve electrical design outputs
    Support training and development of team members
    Commercial, Tendering & Procurement Support

    Provide technical input during tendering to develop preliminary electrical designs
    Support the development of tender pricing
    Define key equipment specifications with the Procurement Department
    Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors/vendors and support tender evaluation

    Job Requirements:

    Experience in ICP, electrical engineering, electrical design, and electrical
    Knowledge of UK Grid Code, network operator standards, and applicable UK design standards and regulations
    Proficiency with electrical system modelling software (DigSilent, PSCAD) and CAD software
    Understanding of MS Project, Excel, and Word
    Ability to manage and resolve complex electrical design issues
    Effective communication and collaboration abilities
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
    Full driving licence
