How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor – Water Industry

    MEICA | M&E | Civil Engineering

    A leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water and wastewater projects on behalf of Thames Water is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

    Working across the full project lifecycle, you will support the commercial delivery of projects from tender award through to final account, working closely with project teams, clients, and the wider supply chain to ensure successful commercial outcomes.

    Duties for Quantity Surveyor

    * Support the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account

    * Prepare and agree valuations, variations, and measurements

    * Procure and administer subcontract packages, including tender enquiries and negotiations

    * Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and commercial performance

    * Assist in the management of commercial risks, opportunities, and change control

    * Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams

    * Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and commercial procedures

    * Support Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in the successful delivery of projects

    Qualifications & Experience for Quantity Surveyor

    * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering

    * Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract

    * Good commercial awareness and cost management skills

    * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications

    * Experience within the water industry is advantageous but not essential
