How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 5 years' PQE to join its well-established Agriculture & Rural Affairs team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking firm renowned for delivering practical, commercially focused advice to clients throughout the region.

    The Role:

    You will manage a diverse and interesting caseload while acting as a trusted adviser to a broad range of rural clients, including farmers, landed estates, rural businesses, landowners and agricultural partnerships.

    Your work is likely to include:

    * Sales and acquisitions of farms, estates and agricultural land.

    * Agricultural and rural property transactions.

    * Farm business tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act matters.

    * Easements, rights of way and boundary disputes.

    * Renewable energy projects, including solar, battery storage and wind developments.

    * Strategic land and development agreements.

    * Rural diversification projects.

    * Agricultural partnership agreements and succession planning.

    * Landlord and tenant matters.

    * Working closely with colleagues across Private Client, Commercial Property and Corporate teams to provide a seamless service to clients.

    * Developing and maintaining long-standing client relationships through networking and business development activities.

    About You:

    The successful candidate will have:

    * A minimum of 5 years' PQE as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.

    * Previous experience advising on agricultural and rural affairs matters.

    * Strong technical knowledge with a commercial and pragmatic approach.

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    * The ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.

    * A genuine interest in the rural sector and the challenges faced by farming and landowning clients.

    * A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to the continued success of the department.
