About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Emergency Housing Officer to manage emergency accommodation placements for households in housing need. The role involves arranging placements, managing tenancy and rent accounts, liaising with accommodation providers, and supporting vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities
Arrange and manage emergency accommodation placements.
Create and maintain placements, properties, tenancies, and rent accounts.
Process move-ins, move-ons, and accommodation terminations.
Prepare and manage housing documentation, including licence agreements and tenancy documents.
Monitor rent accounts, arrears, and housing benefit matters.
Liaise with landlords, accommodation providers, and internal teams.
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and correspondence.
Maintain accurate records and reports.
Support vulnerable residents with empathy and professionalism.Essential Requirements
Experience
Previous experience in Temporary Accommodation, Homelessness, or Housing Needs.
Experience supporting vulnerable residents in a customer-facing environment.Systems Knowledge (Essential)
Strong working knowledge of:
NEC Housing (placements, rent accounts, bookings, property creation)
CRM
LocataKnowledge
Good understanding of housing and homelessness legislation.
Knowledge of:
Section 188 and Section 193 duties
