We’re looking for an experienced SHE Advisor to join our client in Chorley. This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys being hands-on within operational environments. Salary
£50,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location and Working Pattern
Chorley-based role with operational site presence required. While some flexibility exists for ad hoc home working, this is not a fully hybrid position. A large proportion of this role will involve being visible and engaged with operations onsite.

Responsibilities
- Provide competent SHE advice to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards
- Maintain a strong presence across operational areas to deliver practical SHE support for manufacturing, projects and site activities
- Identify hazards and support risk assessments to control risks effectively
- Lead or support investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing improvements
- Monitor activities, intervene where standards are not met, and take appropriate corrective action
- Deliver SHE inductions, toolbox talks and training sessions to promote safe behaviours
- Carry out inspections, audits and observations, ensuring actions are tracked through to completion
- Support continuous improvement of SHE processes, systems and performance reporting
Must‑have Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or project environments
- Strong understanding of SHE principles and the ability to apply them in operational settings
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systems
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage teams at all levels
Nice‑to‑have Skills
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
- IOSH membership at Graduate or Chartered level
- Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)
- Experience working under CDM Regulations
- Background in a regulated industry such as nuclear, defence or construction
