How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Test Engineer
    Glasgow

    Join an established and growing engineering company offering a four-day working week alongside regular overtime and the opportunity to significantly increase your annual earnings. As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will become part of a close-knit team testing bespoke control panels for industrial related applications.

    In this position as an Electrical Test Engineer, you will work within a busy, project-based workshop environment, testing completed electrical equipment before it is released to the customer. You will work closely with electrical fitters, production teams and experienced engineers to identify faults, resolve technical issues and ensure every project meets the required quality and safety standards.

    The business has a consistently busy order book, providing long-term stability, varied technical work and additional hours for engineers who want to maximise their income.

    Your Role as an Electrical Test Engineer Will Include:

    Testing LV switchboards, MCCs and electrical control panels
    Completing functional testing of control circuits and electrical systems
    Testing protection relays, Variable Frequency Drives and soft starters
    Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawingsAs an Electrical Test Engineer You Will Need to Have:

    Previous electrical testing experience within switchgear, control panels or similar equipment
    Practical fault-finding and diagnostic experience
    Experience using electrical testing equipment
    A recognised electrical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
