We are seeking a professional and dependable Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and on time. Candidates must hold a valid Class 1 licence and have relevant driving experience, preferably with flatbed and commercial vehicles.
Duties
* Safely operate Class 1 lorries, including flatbed trucks, across designated routes
* Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, adhering to safety regulations
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to identify any maintenance needs or safety issues
* Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards
* Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle checklists
* Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
* Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company's reputation during all interactions with clients and colleagues
Qualifications
* Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record
* Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries and delivery vehicles
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
* Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
* Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
* Prior experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable
