How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HGV Class 1 Night Trunking Drivers

    Pay: £19.50 - £24.00 per hour
    Location: Maidstone (ME15 9) or Sittingbourne (ME10 3)
    Shift: Nights – 7:00pm until finish

    We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our team on night trunking shifts based from our Maidstone and Sittingbourne depots.

    This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, professional drivers looking for ongoing night work with competitive rates of pay.

    The Role

    Your duties will include:

    Completing scheduled night trunk runs to Birmingham and returning to your home depot.
    Driving a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle safely and in full compliance with road transport legislation.
    Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
    Ensuring loads are secure, including the correct use of curtainside trailers and load strapping.
    Completing all delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
    Maintaining a professional, reliable, and customer-focused approach at all times.

    What We're Looking For

    To be considered, you'll need:

    A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
    A minimum of 6 months' Class 1 driving experience.
    Previous experience with curtainside trailers and load strapping.
    To be 21 years of age or over (due to insurance requirements).
    No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
    A strong work ethic with excellent reliability and punctuality.
    The ability to work night shifts and long-distance trunking routes.
