How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a pivotal leadership position with responsibility for driving commercial growth across the UK. The successful candidate will combine strategic sales leadership with a hands-on approach to business development, key account management, and team leadership. You'll play a key role in strengthening existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new opportunities across the power distribution market.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will shape and execute the national sales strategy, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and exceptional customer engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver the UK sales strategy for the power distribution business.
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across utilities, contractors, consultants, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial end users.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Lead commercial negotiations and oversee major project opportunities from identification through to contract award.
Manage and develop a small national sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and strategic direction.
Work collaboratively with technical, engineering, operations, and marketing teams to deliver commercially successful solutions.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to maintain a competitive advantage.
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, pipeline reporting, and performance metrics for senior leadership.
Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
    About You

We're looking for an experienced sales leader who understands the UK electrical infrastructure market and has a proven ability to grow revenues through both new business acquisition and strategic account management.

You will be able to demonstrate:

Significant sales leadership experience within electrical infrastructure, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, cable accessories, substations, or related sectors.
A successful track record of winning major projects and developing long-term customer relationships.
Experience managing national or regional sales teams with a focus on performance and development.
Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
The ability to develop strategic sales plans while remaining actively involved in customer-facing activities.
Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility across both internal and external stakeholders
