How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Teesside & County Durham | September 2026 Start

    Salary: £145.00 – £232.57 per day

    Location: Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Billingham, Darlington & County Durham

    We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join welcoming Primary Schools from September 2026.


    Whether you're looking for your first long-term teaching role, hoping to secure a permanent position, or wanting to gain valuable experience across different school settings, we’ll take the time to understand what you’re looking for and match you with the right opportunity.

    With opportunities available across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, this is a fantastic chance to begin your teaching career with ongoing support from a specialist education consultant.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that inspire learning.
    • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
    • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.
    • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
    • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
    • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
    • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
    • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
    • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.


    Skills, Qualifications & Experience

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS for September 2026.
    • Primary Education graduate looking to begin their ECT induction.
    • Passionate about making a positive impact in the classroom.
    • Strong communication and organisational skills.
    • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
    • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching.
    • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
