How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Programme Planner – BESS & Grid Infrastructure (Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing EPC contractor delivering utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and grid infrastructure projects across the UK. This role will see you play a key part in the successful planning and delivery of major renewable energy projects, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams.

This is an initial 3-month contract with a high likelihood of extension, operating outside IR35. The position is full-time, based in the Glasgow office, with an immediate start preferred.

    The Role

As Senior Programme Planner, you will be responsible for developing and managing integrated project schedules across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage planning through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover. You will work closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders to provide accurate programme reporting, identify risks, and support successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Microsoft Project.
    • Produce and manage baseline schedules, tracking progress against key milestones.
    • Monitor programme performance, identifying critical path activities, risks, and opportunities.
    • Liaise with engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction teams to ensure programme accuracy and alignment.
    • Prepare look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and planning reports for internal and client meetings.
    • Support delay analysis, change management, mitigation strategies, and programme recovery where required.
    • Assist with tender planning and pre-construction programme development for new project opportunities.

    Essential Experience

    • Proven experience planning and scheduling utility-scale BESS or HV infrastructure projects.
    • Strong understanding of EPC project delivery within the UK renewable energy or power transmission sector.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project.
    • Excellent knowledge of planning methodologies, critical path analysis, and project controls.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical, commercial, and client stakeholders.
    • Full right to work in the UK.

    Contract Details

    • Initial 3-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.
    • Outside IR35.
    • Full-time, office-based in Glasgow.
    • Competitive day rate, dependent on experience.
    • Immediate start available.

If you're an experienced Programme Planner looking to support the delivery of major BESS and grid infrastructure projects within a collaborative EPC environment, we'd be keen to hear from you.
